Obsoletes Series

(English below)

It integrates different types of electronic screens (intervened with programs, circuits, cables, mechanisms, etc.), mixing pictorial and sculptural techniques with electronics. It is a reflection on the use of this type of technology in the 21st century where screens have a leading and almost permanent presence in our daily lives. In these works the screens execute games, graphics and images that play with perception, surprise and randomness through the use of simple algorithms, altered games or programs hacked or copied from the internet. Some of these pieces have sensors, lights, mechanisms and motors generating a pictorial set where circuits, cables and electronic components are integrated into the composition.

Snake Unintelligent Agent

2018/19

It uses a screen of the Nokia 5110 model, a very popular phone in his time, launched in 1998, and incorporated, as part of his software, a game called Snake remembered by a whole generation. In this painting, the snake has its own behavior that obeys that simply does not make any kind of «intelligent» decision. The snake of this game has no direction, but it wanders around the screen and from time to time it coincides with the task of the game, being able to win, accumulating points, or losing which the game starts again, but now with different initial conditions .

Instante.

2018

It uses a color screen (180×160 pixels TLL). In this work, the screen displays rectangles of all colors, of different sizes in a random way. The speed of appearance is of milliseconds, reason why the image in its totality is in constant change, in a matter of seconds. The painting has a PIR motion sensor (passive infrared sensor), which detects movement, pausing for a few seconds when someone is in front of this.
